SubSpace Future Hello Everyone
SubSpace Future Hello Everyone,
January 15th is finally here and the first thing I (Blackie[real], in case you were wondering who was writing this) want to do is apologize for the seemingly lack of interest by Virgin Interactive and the SubSpace team and let you know that we are not abandoning the community. In fact, we have just moved our servers to another provider (many of you have had to update your favorite list [I had to delete the favorite.lst file before it would update]).
We are into the pre-production of our next project. Yes, it will be online. And before you ask, yes we will have public beta testing for specific parts of it but probably no private alpha testing. I can't say much about it just yet but as soon as I can I will.
I have been giving the task of becoming the "Subspace Voice of Virgin Interactive" (SSVoVI for short) and will be a lot more active in the zones and the community.
Right now, we're making plans for the community for 1998. One of the things, we are planning is to have the community much more involved in the future of SubSpace. We are in the process of setting up some kind of "Town Meeting" where I (and other 'helpers') can answer questions about the future of SubSpace and where the current direction is heading. We will also discuss current SubSpace issues and events and try to solve problems within the game. We're also looking at the possibility of setting up a "Development" process for designing new game zones. We will have to work within the certain guidelines, but this will give people an opportunity to try out their hand at designing a great zone.
I hope this clears up some of the rumors and please don't hesitate to write email to subspace@vie.com or contact me through ICQ (1144152) with suggestions and comments.
